Fantasy Football in the Classroom
Many of my students are obsessed with Fantasy Football. When this obsession started to distract from day-to-day activities, I knew I had to find a way to channel that passion into a Latin assignment.
I (with help) developed a worksheet where students are divided into teams and draft a player. They then assign a deity to this player and decorate a blank drawing of them.
There are three parts to the competition: 1. How well their player performs this weekend 2. How well they work on 3 behavioral goals in class (ranging from "encourage others" to "control my urges to yell out of turn") and 3. How their team performs in Latin competitions in class.
These worksheets are only good for Week 3 of Fantasy Football (games September 24-25), but you can download them for free here.
